Short Summary of the Article:

This article reviews barriers and facilitators associated with the implementation of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) in healthcare settings. It compiles evidence from 37 studies and categorizes 193 barriers and 140 facilitators, linking them to the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) and the Behavior Change Wheel (BCW). The findings highlight both intrinsic and extrinsic factors, such as the impracticality of CPGs, resource limitations, lack of awareness, and strong leadership. The review suggests that to improve adherence to CPGs, implementation strategies should be context-specific and aligned with identified barriers and facilitators.
