Instructor Courses For Healthcare Providers
The American Heart Association (AHA) offers comprehensive instructor courses for those interested in teaching life-saving skills. These include the Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses. Both programs equip candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach AHA courses, using the latest instructional materials and videos.
Eligibility for AHA Instructor Courses:
Individuals with a passion for teaching AHA programs.
Aspiring members of the AHA Instructor network.
Healthcare providers are preferred, especially for the ACLS course.
Steps to Become an AHA Instructor:
Complete the Provider Program: Enroll in either the BLS or ACLS Provider program, depending on the course you wish to teach.
Online Instructor Essentials Course: Complete the relevant online instructor course (BLS or ACLS Instructor Essentials).
Attend Classroom Instructor Course: Participate in a one-day classroom course specific to the program (BLS or ACLS).
Pass the Written Exam: Successfully pass the written examination conducted during the classroom course.
Teaching Practice: Teach a provider course (BLS or ACLS) within three months, monitored by the AHA.
Join an AHA Training Center: Become affiliated as an Instructor with an AHA Training Center.

Should you need to cancel your booking, please note that we are unable to process refunds for cancellations made within 2 weeks of the course commencement. Additionally, if you wish to postpone your participation to a later date within this 2-week window, a rescheduling fee will be applied. The fee is R1800 for all Advanced Life Support courses and R500 for BLS and First Aid courses.

For healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine,
intensive care and critical care units
What does this course teach?
The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in
patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills.
The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts. Upon successful completion of all the
patient cases, students must pass the multiple-choice exam with a minimum score of 84%. Topics include:
